He participated in back to back Minnesota State High School Tournaments in 2003 and 2004, where he set school records, state records, and made the All-State Tournament Team in 2004. After Graduating from High School in 2004, BJ was drafted by the Indiana Ice in the USHL. He played one season there, followed by the next season with the Fargo/Moorhead Jets. After having a stellar season with the Jets, BJ committed to St. Cloud State University.

BJ earned Player of the Week Awards in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Along with BJ’s playing experience he brings a wealth of coaching experience to the MEGA Goaltending staff.

BJ has coached and worked with many goaltenders over the past 9 years helping them learn and improve their skills so that they can be the best goalies possible. He strives to help teach and pass on his knowledge to other goalies and working with them and their skills to help them be the best that they can be. The key here is teaching them what options they have and allowing the goalie to decide what style works best for them and then applying it to their game. BJ has encountered many challenges throughout his playing career, but his passion and love for the game as helped him overcome adversity and continue to be successful. Here he is able to apply this to his coaching to help get the most out of his goalies and to push them to their limits. BJ is very competitive and knows what it takes to excel at all levels. So when working with goalies of all ages he knows how to work with them to make them they best goalie they can be.
